Last I heard two days ago in SE and NE Ohio, prices hanging around $525-$540 for good quality seng.

I called 4 buyers here in East Tennessee this morning, and we are looking at anywhere from 400 to 440 a pound. It's up about 10 to 15 dollars from the first of the week. It's going to have to do better then that. Keep holding out guys, it's bound to go up.

Article in LaCrosse WI paper dated Oct 10, 2011 predicts root prices to go up due to early snow last year hurting plants to be dug this year.

Interesting article. That is consistent with what I am hearing about the harvest this year in Ontario. Quality and quantity is down.

Unfortunately, that is only the case for cultivated crops and doesn't really affect wild root prices.
