TOPIC: High Mountain sengin 2019

Well, I'm back in the saddle again. Went out on the back porch this morning and it was in the low 70's. I decided to give it a go today, and boy am I glad I did. Got up to the mountain at 10 o'clock and it was 68 degrees, ended up in the low 80's by time I got out. Went to an old spot off the road, but a decent little hike back in there. Wasn't sure what to expect, but ended up amazed at how good the woods looked. Found a pretty good little mess of seng back in there, and most of them were still green! Saw a fair share of yellow ones, but all in all just tickled to death with the conditions. The ginseng is holding up great from what I've seen. However, the cohosh looks like it's been burnt to a crisp, kinda weird. Feels great to be back at it!

Congrats on a good outing 44. Thanks for the pics.

I just got back from a disappointing week in AZ on 9/17/19. I had planted all my berries before I left and cut the tops off my one colony most susceptible to someone discovering it. No new berries.

Night time temps have been in the low 60s/high 50s most nights, daytime temps, low 80s.

I've looked at pics of cohosh but it seems they're pics of prime specimens or taken to make them look bigger than typical plants. I see what I suspect to be cohosh but they look much less spectacular. I wonder if I'm looking at something else?
