Out of 4 lbs planted I think every single seed germinated. Things are looking great and I'm already looking forward to this falls planting. Thanks guys for the good tips and advice.

PS - it has been my experience that they will germinate and be nice little 3 leafers just about anywhere... but now whether they will make it to year 3 and be 3 prongs... that is not so sure.

I have some that I planted in somewhat questionable locations, that looked absolutely great that first year... but since then they have dwindled down and or remained very small 2 prongs or 3 leafers or just died.

Not sure how long you have been planting... but it really takes about 3 years to see for sure where your plantings are really going to do well.

I have some that are doing great, and others that I basically wasted my time planting in that location.

Last Fall was my first time planting purchased seed. I've been tending some wild patches for years tho. I expect losses as some places I planted are better than others. Here's a pic or two of the wild seng growing nearby. It germinated very good as well.
