TOPIC: Emergence of 2014

I checked my seed bed yesterday evening 5/5/2014 and found 41 tops up (off 42 total roots in the bed).

12 are 4 prongs, and the rest 3 prong (with one double top 3 prong).

Last year I had 41 tops up too... not sure if the same one or a different one is remaining dormant (or has passed)... Will have to compare pics from last year and see if I can figure that out.

They are still sort of spindly and not filled out good yet.

Just around the hillside I have some wild sim planted and got a pic of one of them.

A nice little 3 pronger.

I can't remember for sure if this one is 3 or 4 years old but it was looking good especially considering the location is not nearly ideal.

Every thing is looking good there TN. That bed should yield you about 800 berries this Fall and that should go well on your large acreage for the coming years. That's about what I got off of mine 2 years ago. I hope that I do better this season.

Nice pics guys! Here in SE Ohio the ginseng has just started emerging in the last week or so... Most of my plantings are up, but only about half of the native plants have show themselves... Good luck to all of you growers

Finally got my first shang up counted 13 3 prongs n a2 prong. I'm sure there plenty more I transplanted there last ur but only had a littletime to look. II'll get some pics later n hope to find more.

Finally something to bring to the party, One of last years seedlings going two prong this year, A three last year decided to be a four this year ,love it, and a favorite old timer of mine coming up for another season. I never get tired of seeing them emerge , really gets the blood going.
