Awesome root on that biggun! I wish we had roots around here that got that big. I've dug some dandy fours this year and the biggest root has been 1oz. The pic in my avatar is the biggest I've ever dug and it's 1.8oz.

We don't have mountains where I live just big rolling hills. SE Ky has mountains and 2-6oz roots are fairly common.

Thanks!, It was a beautiful specimen don't come across those a lot. There's some freaks up in those mountains for sure, and you're right I've seen some of those big hogs they find up in Kentucky as well. They will be bear hunting up here next weekend I believe. There's a lot of bears up here I've run into them on several occasions. The terrain around here will probably kill me before a bear, lol. Hope to see some good pics from you guys while I'm gone. Good and safe diggin fellas!

I Wasn't sure what kind of shape the ginseng was going to be in today, but got into it pretty decent. There was a good bit green, but found quite a few down and almost gone. I hunted along a creek that was lined with thicket and fallen timber, and you could see those gold tops just peaking out. I ended up with a little over 17oz's today, and never broke a sweat. I may throw in one more hunt this season, and that will probably be it. It's been a hot one this year, but today was like heaven. Great day on the mountain!
