Well, got up to the property about 9'oclock seems like I spent half the morning scouting for new territory. Finally checked out a big steep ridge I'd had my eye on in the past. Man, you talk about green and thick! Briar thicket galore. Found some beautiful 4 prongs, and a 5 prong to start the season. I reached into my pack to grab my phone to take some pics and realized I had left my phone at the house! So couldn't take any pics in the woods. I decided to take the 5 prong top home with me so could get a pic of it, lol. Started with just 11 oz today, but very enjoyable morning once I started getting into it a little. I think this area will prove to be a nice spot this season.
Got up and hit it for about 4 hours this morning. It wasn't to bad hot and bugs weren't all that bad either given all the bug spray I had on, lol. Always a little cooler up in the mountains. Added 12 more oz's this morning. Not finding tons of numbers, but the quality of seng I'm finding is unreal. Just big ole 4's some of the biggest tops I've ever run across. Of all the seng I harvested today I didn't see one berry, not ONE! I really miss seeing those big red clusters. Everything is so green you gotta literally stop every 5 yards and let your eyes really study the ground to spot em!
