TOPIC: One nice one today!

Re:One nice one today! 8 years 6 months ago #36884

Gorgeous long necks there Maya and what a berry stem.

Our berry stems here are usually very short, hardly ever rise above the leaf sets.

Makes our seng a little harder to find I think.

Now you got me thinking that I should have checked the age on that one TN. I just ran up there to plant berries so it got a pass for this year. I like seeing the plants leaned right over from the weight of the berries. it makes the plants harder to spot I guess.

Good haul for me this morning, but man did I have to work for it. All shale and my fingers are bleeding! Nothing real old but pretty much 15-20yo.

I finished digging a few in one spot and then started looking for more and found this right next to where I was digging! Fox or yote? It's about 1.5' across.

This one patch despite its crappy soil, is loaded with small plants and they all had berries. I bet I put over 200 in the ground. The patch is only 40' square, but has 80 plants or so. I moved a lot of the berries to another spot down hill that has better soil.
