TOPIC: Ohio ginseng season 2012

5....I never like to find seng as soon as I step into the woods, it seems to be a bad omen for me. Seems like every time I do it never holds up for long then I walk for hours just knowing that it has to be there !

6000 acres should give you plenty of options, hope you find a truck load in there somewhere.

very nice 5....

Dug a pile today. Went to that new spot today and found a really good patch up the first hollow I came to. It's the best dig I've had in a good while. Ended up with a hair over 21 ounces. I believe that I dug more 4 prongs than I did 3 prongs. Lots of plants with 15-20 inch stalks. I had 12 plants that had at least 3 main roots, 8 roots went a half ounce or bigger with the biggest topping out at just over an ounce. I was leaving decent 3 prong plants that most guys would've dug. And there was still more to be dug, but I had to leave. All of this in four hours from when I first stepped into the woods. I don't think I found anything in that first hour either. I'll be posting pics shortly.

Nice looking roots there 5, bet you cant wait to get back in them woods. Is this part of the 6000 acres?
