TOPIC: Seng Emergence in Maine

My 2,3 and 4 yr olds have been emerging over the past two weeks.

Also the seedling just started emerging this week.

Here's some four yr olds. Not the wide variance in plant formation and yet they are all the same age.

Nice. That one looks like it had some trouble getting out from under the leafs.

I had one of the big roots in my seed producing bed, the top got hung up under the leaves/mulch and it actually broke it's stem a bit before the rest got out. It did make it all out but the main stem is damaged. It was still hanging in there last time I looked. Not sure if it will make berries or not this year.

Those 3 prongs you pictured - looking good, what year are they in ? Is this their 2, 3, or 4th spring ?

They don't look like 2 year olds to me, more like 3 or 4.
