TOPIC: Current Yellow Root Prices

Is anyone giving more than $20/lb for dry Yellow Root in KY?

the most i have got this year is $22

I am up in the eastern panhandle of WV and the price is the same up here, 20.00 per pound.

i remember the first year i dug some, maybe 13 years ago it was 28 a pound, thats the most i ever got out of it

If you could find a company or someone who buys it from the guys we sell to you could probobly get more per pound or even on ebay you should be able to get a pretty good price per pound I would think. I will look and see if I can find someone who buys from the botanical houses or a site on the net for buyers. If I have any luck, Ill post on here so that you can get the info. Out of curiousity, how many pounds of yellow root do have to sell. They may want a order of, say 20 pounds.

I was quoted $20 a lb. I'm saving the tops also. I think they are bringing $3.50, must be green and shade dried.

Went to pick goldenseal berries Monday morning. They were few and far between and small due to the drought. Plant tops are small too. I usually pick between 2 to 3 gallons of berries. This year my wild patches only produced about 2 cups worth of berries. 1 out of every 30 plants had a berry on it.
