First of all, Thanks Billy.
Now WOO-HOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!
I went to one of those west facing slopes that I didn't really have high hopes for tonight after work. I didn't find a huge number of roots, but found some REALLY NICE ONES!!! These don't weigh as much of some of those huge mountain roots some of you guys run across from time to time, but are right up there with some of the bigger ones I've ever dug here in Ohio. I only dug 13 bunches tonight and ended up with right at 9 ounces. The six largest roots pushed the scale to just a hair over 7 ounces.
I was really getting discouraged after last fridays hunt. I've been only looking in new areas, and really was disappointed in the number of big plants that I'd found this fall. I'm kind of like a trophy hunter when it come to sengin. I really like the thrill of finding huge old plants. For my area, this is just about as big as a guy is likely to find. Getting out with my daughter on Sunday afternoon and finding these big boys tonight really made this seng season special. They all are in their own way, but these are the two things I'll remember from this one. The question I'm asking myself is should I end this season on this high note, or should I try one more spot?
hope you guys enjoy these pics, I sure am
