TOPIC: NC High Country Seng 2016

NC High Country Seng 2016 8 years 2 months ago #39372

Well the season will be winding down in another 2 or 3 weeks so I thought I would share some of my yearly pictures of some of the plants and roots from this year's harvest. It's been very dry here most of the summer but the seng seems to be very healthy still, not even seeing many yellow plants yet, which is unusual here for this late in the year, my last dig last year was October 4th, so I think it will last a little longer than that this year.

Was several seng plants hiding in this patch it's hard to see, wasn't very impressive plants, but one produced my 2nd biggest root of the year.

The top root in this pic was from that last pic, it weighed exactly 2 ounces.

This was the 2nd biggest plant I've ever found behind the one I posted a couple years back that the berry pod came to my chest. This one was almost waist high and had a huge stem.

Love seeing those berries on there, most places I hunt I didn't see any berries, I think due to turkeys.
