TOPIC: Where are all the pics?

I hear ya Chief... Those hot days early in season sure do get to me more nowadays than I remember 20 years ago... It might just have a little something to do with age lol.
I did get out yesterday and dug right at 6 ounces...
Pretty much exactly what I expected to find in there. If nobody else digs it though it will be spectacular in another 10 years. Lots and lots of little guys there.
I'll post a few pics of my day yesterday.

Nice Ohio root there 5prong! Reminds me of that bulby root I used to dig back in the late 70's. Those roots ought to fetch a nice price.

Hey Folks...

I went down a hollow close to home on Saturday morning and dug a few...

Below are some of the best ones. Noting big but found several with some age on them. Most of these are not for sale - I will keep them to eat myself.

I mostly went berry planting but after I planted all I had collected off my seed bed (125 or so)... I went on a short hunt and found a few nice ones.

The one at the top of that last pic and shown by itself below is a cool looking root.

My favorite of this little batch.



It has a little forked ball root at the beginning then a neck over to another ball root, and then the neck goes on up to a longer shoot.

That is a eater for sure for me.

Nothing big, but I prefer the smaller roots with age for my own consumption.

Below is a pic of a small patch that I have been watching since 2010.

When I first found them there was nothing but a bunch of small 2 prongs and some 3 leafers, no large mother plant was ever found.

I have watched them grow over the past 6 years and this year the on down the hill (a 3 pronger) was looking like it might be ready.
