TOPIC: a few pictures from the past couple trips out

good patch of plants on an almost vertical hill. you can see a large 4 prong on the upper righthand side trying to hide ... on the upper lefthand side you can see another large 4 prong minus the leaves ... finding alot of plants like this already

Nice pics shroomy. aint no hens up here yet either. I've looked the last couple days after getting maybe a 1/4 inch of rain on tuesday. Calling for more rain on saturday. Im hoping for a nice steady all day soaking.

thanks guys ... id keep looking for those hens ... i was surprised at the ones i found since we had a long dry spell ... some of them were so old they were spoiled !!! so dont give up .... the white scabby thing is a maitake mushroom (hen of the woods) and yes they are excellent eating and have medicinal purposes .... hoping to go to the woods in the rain tomorrow .... lol ... here are a few roots dried/drying that i dug so far this season

What is the name of the two prong plant at the bottom of the first photo? The root is bright yellow/orange inside if you cut it open.

Found 7 hens around one oak yesterday but they must have just came up or not be growing good in that spot because only 1 had any size.

That is celadine wood poppy, it has a yellow root, and yellow flower.
