big rod, I was quoted about the same yesterday. I was talking with a reputable dealer and he said he's encouraging people to hold on till around thanksgiving. He's expecting the price to peak out at around 7-750 here in east Tennessee. He said a couple weeks ago he was paying 6-650 and then it dropped again to 525. So, we'll see.

FirSt time poster here. My GFs dad started teaching me how to dig this year.

Anyone think this cold front will drive the prices up? Looks like it has been staying around 600 for a while now.

Weather has nothing to do with prices being paid. It's all supply vs. demand.

Doest the cold weather affect the quantity that can be dug thus supply dwindles??

sometimes yes but this late in the year the digging seasons mostly over anyway some years in the past very dry weather has lead to higher prices but this year almost all the ginseng growing zones had enough rain some areas did die off a little early but i dont know if it hadmuch impact on supply .
