TOPIC: Price in VA right now is to low

I was quoted 450 for good quality seng. What you think?

My buyer here in TN quoted $400 to $420 but said its going up and he will know more this weekend. I don't think the effects of the drought has hit the market yet and when it does, the price should go up significantly. I will wait until later in the year to sell my' seng to try and get the best price.

Might I ask in which County of VA the roots for sale were collected?

There are some differences in wild root character between Cumberland Gap and Winchester and also up and down the Blue Ridge and Piedmont
due to soil type, elevation, growing season, etc..., and these factors should have an effect on the local price.

We should remember that regardless of the region we collect in the value of our personal collection will be effected by the choices we make while harvesting.

Harvesting small undersized roots from imature plants, cutting breaking and otherwise damaging roots, improper washing and curing techniques will all lead to lower price quotes in the end.
