TOPIC: How do you keep fresh roots ?

How is the best way to keep fresh dug ginseng roots without worry of spoilage ?

Never done this but i heard moss works. Or just leave them in soil.

I've packed them in peat before. I would dampen the peat only slightly. Refrigeration would help prevent spoilage...and of course be sure they are able to breathe and get fresh air (no closed plastic lids).

I was told by a buyer a couple years ago to leave any dirt thow them in a grocery bag and in the fridge. Dig for 2 weeks and bring it to them to buy. But that is only 2 weeks.
