If you check out our host site wildgrown.com - they sell 3 year old rootlets.
See image below for quantity, price, etc.
Notice at this point they are all \"SOLD OUT\" so there is obviously a decent demand for them.
You can also buy 1 and 2 year old rootlets from various vendors and a few offer rootlets older than 3 years.
PS - you were asking specifically about \"young plants\". What you would need to do to get young plants is purchase young rootlets and plant them (late fall) then in the spring you should have your young plants.
Starting from rootlets is expensive compared to starting from stratified seed.
You can get a pound of stratified seed for around 100.00 (some more, some less).
A pound of seed is around 7000 seeds.
If you planted 7000 seeds in good location and had decent survival rate, then for around 100.00 (and a little work) you could easily end up with 3000-5000 young ginseng plants established.
Starting from rootlets is much more expensive than that, but if you want to get to the point that you have berry producing plants much faster, then planting a bunch of 3 year old rootlets would be a decent option.
