This is only my speculation and I have no facts to back my thoughts so keep this in mind when reading my post. Last year some of the big Field Cultivated Shade Grown Ginseng farmers took a beating. There was much damage due to ice and snow. Some fields and the shade structure were damaged so bad in April that the farmers were asking for help from their state. I can only surmise that if a company answers to stock holders or share holders and the profitability is down like in any company the stock can go down.
This event did in fact drive the price of seed up as the supply was not as abundant.
