TOPIC: how much time do they have?

how much time do they have? 12 years 11 months ago #9696

Been a very wet spring in MN and elsewhere. My seeds had an awesome germination rate but have been laying with just the pigtails showing for a couple weeks now. I can only see the ones just under the leaf and mulch cover but I'm assuming the ones that got a little ground cover are doing about the same. How long do they have in this state before they just give up? Do the ones in the ground a little bit have a better chance or will they rot and die if we don't get a little dry and warmth soon?

Here in Maine, a few of the seeds are just starting to push out the stem. But the majority are like yours. The little root is pushed into the soil and thats all.

Like I mentioned to you before. The maple leaves will be close to half their full size and the apple blossoms will be in bloom or close to it by the time the majority emerge. You will probably see a few up before this happens.

I expect to see a few of mine up within a week or so.

It's hard to do. But be patient! It won't be long now.
