I have about one acre of good natural hardwood habitat (mostly a tulip poplar bench above and below cliff) in SE Ky. which I would use one or two of the rake methods.
Would a Jan. or Feb. planting have good germination at that late date? It has been awfully dry around here this fall, late winter would probably have higher soil moisture content. Soils are not often frozen here for very long periods. Also I worry about chipmunks as there are a couple in there.
