TOPIC: Seng up... and shrooms too

It has been a crazy late winter early spring... with long cold wet spells and few and far between warm ups...

Yesterday evening... we had had a string of cold wet days followed by a couple of warm days (70's)... so I thought perhaps I might find a few morels up.

I checked my hot spot (where I have found them 3-4 times in previous years) and sure enough I found a couple. Pic of one below.

I ate both of them for lunch today, Yummy !

I have some wild sim beds on that same hillside and got a couple pics of some fresh up wild simulated ginseng too. I have 4 beds on that hillside and lots of nice little 3 prongers in then, and several 2 prongs too. They are growing slow but steady in this location. They are not full size just yet, these have just emerged and are just starting to expand up to full size.

Wow I'm jealous, in MN we still got about 8" of snow on the ground....but there's an end in sight. Last fall I planted my first ginseng ever, about 150 rootlets and 2 lbs of wild sim, can't wait to watch it come up.

no seng here or shrooms..got down to 27 degrees last night...

Down here in southern middle TN... it is starting to green out nicely.
Most seng is up, but not fully expanded yet.
I took the pic below of my seed bed yesterday evening.

Got me another nice tom turkey today too and last weekend caught a few smallies and largemouth on the rivers (although it was up and running fast, which makes for hard fishing). rain rain rain... at least it has warmed up some, but still raining way to much. Looking forward to warm and sunny days.

Wow yours is really coming up down there, in MN we just got rid of our last snow, finally getting some 60s weather so I'm hoping to see my first ever crop of sang start to show itself before long!

MN... we had a nice sunny day today (finally)... supposed to be nice tomorrow too.... but it rained so much earlier this week that I am sure the river and creeks are still up.

I think I will go fish a local small lake tomorrow morning and see if I can catch a good mess of large mouth bass. They eat pretty good
