It's taking its sweet time in TN. This is the slowest and drawn out I've ever seen it take. It's about1/2 to 2/3 up here. For the first part of April we were abnormally dry, I believe that had something to do with it

They are coming on more everyday,Latt. I'll grab a few more pics today if I can. I was getting worried since they've took so long. Nature sure is unpredictable.

Very nice Hill,
What would you say your survival rate is thus far from seed to plants that are growing?
Just curious.

Rootman,
It varies really. As time goes on I'm getting better germination and better survival thereafter. The first couple years I might have 10% or a little better out of the seed planted. Now, the germination is alot higher and my three year plants I have probably are at 60% of what I planted. It's a numbers game, you can spray to keep disease away and along comes a vole, poison the voles and here comes a turkey scratching around for bugs and jerks out some 2 year olds. I had a tree fall and slide 40' downhill plowing up roots right and left.Just have to try and plant enough to allow for all that.

Hill,
I hear you, about the time you think everything is going good, something else will happen.
Hang in there.

I'll do my best rootman. I keep on keeping on down here.
As you see, here is part of the newest crop coming up.

Hillhopper, that is the cleanest patch i've ever seen. What type of straw would you recommend?

Thanks
