TOPIC: 2 year old ginseng

While mushroom hunting this past weekend I checked on some of the ginseng I planted a couple years ago. Most are just starting to come up but I noticed a majority of them only had 4 leaves. The 3 larger leaves like the first year plant and a small fourth one where I was expecting two small leaves(hope that made sense). Is this normal?

Not real normal IMHO. Should be 3 leaves or 5 leaves. Maybe a few 4 leaves but not the majority of them. Can you post a pic?

Found a morel growing next to one of them. Win-win!

Also found a few two prong 2-year old plants.

Anything from a little larger 3 leafs to 5, and two prongs with 3 to 5 on each are normal to me.
