TOPIC: Blossom picking

Blossom picking 5 years 4 months ago #37940

According to S.Persons book Ginseng,Goldenseal, and Other Woodland Medicinals, page 132...blossom picking in early summer puts energy back into the root and adds root weight.Although i dont do this mainly because i want the seed production at this time,i was wondering if any experienced growers did this practice and has it been worth it?Also i personally clip the foliage on plants(three prongs mostly)in late summer so that it is harder for the poachers but i leave the seed head alone,Does this have any effect on weight gain?Any replies are appreciated and thankyou in advance. Merry Christmas
