storing seed 9 years 3 weeks ago #37155

Hey guys I was wandering I purchesed some seed and it has been really dry here with no rain in site.Do you think I should store my seed in moist sand in a plastic tote in my seller or would that create some mold issues.tks

Should be fine as long as you stir them up every few days.

Don't keep them in the fridge, and don't keep them in an air tight container (i.e., plastic bag). A plastic tote (shoe box size up to about 5 lbs) works well, costs a buck, isn't air tight.

Do what Jimsenger suggested and check them every couple days for excessive moisture (leave the lid off a bit) or too dry, add very little water (too much dramatically increases the opportunity for disease) and stir them up. Plant as soon as you can...most of the ground should have enough moisture by now I'd think depending on where you are.
