TOPIC: Replanting in seed in beds

Replanting in seed in beds 9 years 6 months ago #32952

Was wondering if anybody knows if you can reseed a boxbed filled with peat and sand after you have raised one and two year old ginseng seedlings in it. I know Brad Castle probably can answer this. I am not sure how good germination would be year after year. GMC Paul I am from central Indiana my email is This email address is being protected from spambots. Hey Wilkie,

Yes, you can. However, the incidence of disease usually skyrockets and germination drops dramatically. Short answer, I've tried it, but I never replant the beds these days. I just empty them out into my garden and fill with new mix, or grow something else in them like goldenseal for a few years.
