I've read several articles on when to plant ginseng with respect to planting in the spring or planting in the fall. There were several points made for each time to plant. I will be planting soon in Central Wisconsin and wanted to ask the forum for their feedback on this subject. Would it matter if I planted early in August as compared to September or October? Is there some type of event such as first frost or leaves out of trees that is better for planting seeds?
Here in northcentral Ohio, I try to have my seed in the ground before the fall rains which normally show up the last week or two in September. I might plant as early as late August, but often plant as late as the end of October during Indian summer.
