Lenno,
Nice pics, I wish my plants had a few more years on them. I hear ya on the seed. With the way prices are going a man needs to be producing his own for sure.

Lenno- those are great looking plants. You are sure doing something right!

What is your calcium rating from your soils analysis? I'd be interested to know....

Hillhopper- you are sure correct on your statement about being able to produce one' s own seeds.... Have you priced seeds this year? Big differences from some sellers....

Hillhopper, k duce, whit jr. Thanks

My calcium was around 2600, so I added some gypsum. I never had it tested again so I don't know how much the gypsum helped.

I am happy I don't have to buy seeds anymore, they are high for sure.

Lenno,

Those are some good looking tops and berry pods.

Based on how healthy and happy they look, and those big fat berry pods (which I am sure means happy healthy plant and root) I would say your soil and location is plenty good.

Nice looking goldenseal too.

Congrats on a job well done !

TN Hunter, thanks.

I think a lot of the reason some of those tops are so big in that area is they get good sun all morning.

I can't stop looking at that first picture. Could you imagine stumbling across a patch that size in the wild. I'd probably shed a tear or two.

Is your patch of goldenseal also 6-7 years old? Mine is still a baby, started it last year. I was wondering about how long it took you to get that goldenseal to be that big?

That patch is 6 years old from root cuttings. I put in a bunch of seed beds in over the last couple years and I dont know how long they will take to mature.
