Fellows,
It is getting close to time for plants to emerge in the Southeast and we had a really bad year in this area for disease because of so much rain last season. I know that some of you have already stated that you don't want to use any chemicals on your young plants, but I have been reading through Google searches about the use of Non Toxic chemicals or household items that you might want to try as an alternative. You may have already heard of this method , but I believe it might be something that would help save plants. The diseases did not just go away through the winter. They are still there and they will affect your plantings again this season, most likely. The products are simple, and not very costly so it will give you something to consider. I saw more than one formula, but most of the ones that I looked at consisted of baking soda, mild detergent, and cooking oil mixed in water. Just spray it on as the plants are emerging and it controls many diseases that affect ginseng. I won't give a link because there are so many videos on YouTube that you can just take your choice. It is also recommended while the plants are still dormant.
