TOPIC: Root storage before planting?

Root storage before planting? 11 years 1 month ago #24876

As some of you know about my surprise this year. It seems one could store away roots until cool weather hits? What do you think?

I'm not really sure I know just what you mean Rickyc.

Are you asking how to keep rootlets you've bought until you can plant them?

I would suggest keeping them relatively dry, perhaps in barely moist peat. In a cool area, maybe even in a refridgerator. Keep a close eye on them too. If they start to mold, you need to do a weak beach bath and exhaustive rinse.

Sorry, sometimes just not very clear, but like my fridge surprise I had this year, was almost a year in the bottom drawer and had 4 to 6 inch sprouts. So thinking the fridge ought to work as long as they are not forgotten!
