TOPIC: Planting Four pounds this fall

I will be Planting four pounds this fall in the 10 acre hickory, maple and poplar, forrest I own behind my house, I plan on doing this ever year for the next four years, growing it as wild simulated, plat it and let it be...and if all goes well harvesting it all in 15 years....let's see how it goes.

Sly, Stay away from any flat ground. Steeper the better for good drainage. Ginseng does'nt like keeping its feet wet. Root rot will set in.

Thanks for the tips....the area is elevated, with good drainage, only a few really steep spots though....I'll be sure to avoid any flat low ground/wet ground
...from my proximity to lake michigan we most always have a nice breaze blowing for ventilation.....many good indicator plants, tons jack In the Pulpit and Solomons seal, some cohosh, blood root, sevral different ferns....etc
....there is a lot of virginia creeper not sure if that will be a problem.

Normally creeper isn't a problem. If you have a lot of it, I'd suggest spraying it here sometime this month and hit anything that is left again next month. That way it will give you a window for your ginseng to get a little older before the creaper covers the area again.
