TOPIC: Couple nice 4 prongs...

Couple nice 4 prongs... 12 years 6 months ago #17418

In my seed producing bed a few of the tops there have filled out good now. Some are still spreading out.

Here's a pic I took just now of a couple nice 4's in the bed.

Not too far from that bed I have a little spot I planted some small 2 prong roots in the fall of 2009.

They are all nicer 3 prongs now.

These two I planted just below a old tree stump and it looks like over the winter part of that old stump slid down the hill a bit and covered up one of the roots.

It found it's way out a hole in the old stump. Check out where the stem on that top 3 prong comes out the hole in that old stump root.

Thought that was cool.

Nice looking plants TN! I've seen sang push through some very tight spots to get up out of the ground.

I was turkey hunting this morning and found an odd little 2 prong plant. The one prong was just a normal 5 leaf prong, but on the other side it had eight leaves. I saw a 2prong in the fall a couple of years ago that had an odd configuration of 6 leaves on one side, but never seen one before like this. Perhaps someone who has grown a lot of sang has seen some like this, but it is a first for this long time digger.

That's a new one on me 5prong, pretty cool though. I would have to transplant that dude where I could watch it later on and see how it developes with age.

Tn,
Nice lookin plants, I never get tired of seeing big beautiful Seng. All of my seed producing plants are up as well and about four of them have had their tops browsed completely off to the stem. Its no dog on wonder most plants dont make it past a three with the time, effort and energy that goes into their growth to then be eaten and have to start all over for the next season. I foresee a little fence going up around these plants soon. I cant figure out if it's deer or some other varment, not too many deer in that area but it's possible.
