TOPIC: Can't wait for spring...

Can't wait for spring... 12 years 10 months ago #16438

The wintertime after Christmas and before 3 leafers are up and small mouth bass start hitting in the creek - is my least favorite time of year.

If we can just hang in there a couple more months...

Found this up in one of my planting beds last year on 3/20/2011.

Some poped out very early last spring.

End of March last year it got unusually warm and on my first trip to the creek I caught these two nice smallies on the first two cast.

Talk about some good eatin !

Just a couple good things to look forward to soon - - - oh yeah and those Morels toooooo - can't wait to find a few more of those.

Nice looking bass, there! there are few fish [IMHO] that taste better! I should rediscover fishing... havn't been in years.

It's supposed to be mild here this weekend, and I plan on getting that last lb I bought in the ground.

The Bee's will be rockin by spring and always look forward to gardening and some trout fishing. This time of the year is mushroom growing, fly tying, reloading and garden planning. I live about 10 miles from the trail. I've hunted it from PA. South. I really target black morels and the trail is a good area.

I was just wondering. I find a lot of chants and bolts along trails. Was wondering about the Appalachian trail. Not surprised it produces some mushrooms.
Good luck,

I think I'm going into what I call \"woods-withdrawal\"... hunting season over, not getting out much, short daylight days...

Took my dog out last sat for a 2 hour walk in the farmer's woods nearby. It was Sat am, and I felt soooo much better afterward!
