I have looked at a couple of plants and several seeds are turnin red. Is this normal for southern il in july? And some green ones are fallin off to guess cause of the wind and rain we have had all year. Does anyone think the animals will get the seeds before season starts?

What state are we talking. I'm way up in Vermont and ours just started to swell. We won't see red for a couple / three weeks.

hey guys believe it or not i sprayed my patch today and found one ripe red berry. I have never found one this early in my life. The rest of my plants the berries are still forming and are bright green. The mold you showed in the picture on the berry stem is this harmful to a plant, i would think not because i have seen this alot in my patches over the years, i just didn't know what it was.
