First planted stratified seed in 2000
Planted 3200 seed this year, total of 11,000seeds and possibly 200 rootlets.
Plant a few berries every year, usually loose them to animals.

Started planting berries from wild seed when I started hunting ginseng in the early 80s.

Started planting stratified seed in 98 or 99.

After that first year, I\"ve planted probably an average of six pounds a year. Some years more, some years less because of weather and time.

This year, I'll plant about seven pounds if the weather doesn't kill me in the next week or so.

Been planting berries for many years

First planted stratified seed last fall 1/4 pound

Planted 3/4 pound this fall

2010 first planting 5 pounds

5lbs lifetime.

BCastle Was your first planting a wild sim planting? If so can you tell us how many made it to a harvestable size? It doesn't seem like that many members on here have been planting for over ten years. If they have then I sure haven't seen any results posted. I know that conventional wisdom says 10% survival if you're lucky. I guess I'd just like to hear some actual figures from guys who actually planted wild sim plantings 8 or more years ago. If you see this perhaps you should start another thread. I'm not wanting to hijack this thread.

1: I planted my first strarified seed in 2010. It was around 1/2 ounce that was given to me by a friend.

2. That above amount from last year, and 1/2 lb. planted so far this year.

3. I have another 1/2 lb. on hand, and plan to have it all planted in a couple of weeks; making this year's total to be 1 lb. planted.

4. WV Mountains \"somewhat\" Northerly of Addison.

5. Mid-May 2012, at germination.

Relocated and used wild plants for seed plants since 2004

Two pound in 2009

Twenty pound in 2010

Fifteen pound ready to plant this year..maybe more if I can get a hold of em at a good price and I feel froggy enough.

I got another pound of seed in yesterday so I am upping my totals to

7 planted lifetime, and 3 planted this year (my pound will be planted this Thurs, Fri, Sat).
