Hillhopper, or anyone else

Have you tried using those sonic ground spikes. They run on 3-D size batteries and emit a frequency that is supposed to run the moles and voles off. Supposedly one spike will cover something like 15,000 sq. ft. and the batteries are supposed to last about 6 months. I just got some for my yard and will see how well they work there. I have mole/vole issues in my ginseng beds. Not so much where you see tops pulled flat down very often, but when raking and planting you see lots of tunneling. My neighbor has had some issues with them nibbling roots and has done some traditional baiting. I prefer non-chemical options as to not inadvertently poison other wildlife that feed on the moles/voles. I have lots of owls and other raptors (coopers and red-shouldered hawks) that nest in my woods and surrounding woodlands. I enjoy seeing them a lot.

Let me know if anyone has used the sonic deterrents with any success.

Thanks

That would be awesome if they work. Let me know how they do. Iv tried baiting but the deer tear my traps up getting the bait. I placed the bait in the mole holes the other day and the dang deer tried digging at it. If the ground spikes work then that would be an easy fix.

Hey deer hunters and seng hunters. I have a bag of hair I saved from me and my sons last hair cut. I am going to scatter it around the ginseng patches. It only makes sense it will help ward off deer for a while until the mice take it away to build nest.

Maybe I will put the hair in an old sock and tie it to a tree to keep the human scent in the air longer.
