TOPIC: What deer repellant have you tried?

Re:What deer repellant have you tried? 12 years 11 months ago #15829

That oughta gettem Whitjr lol
They can't eat ginseng when they are on the grill. Just got done making some great deer jerky today. Had the back straps for dinner last night after a hefty turkey dinner for lunch.
My son and I ate the the whole batch of jerky for dinner. Just couldn't stop so I'll have to make more tomorrow

Got two this weekend up there! The old Mauser got one, and the new remington got one. On Sunday am, I saw eight more down there, however here in NC, no gun hunting allowed on Sunday.

Whitjr,

Being a new grower, I haven't tried this yet; but I trapped up until last season, and I still have a pretty good store of coyote urine. I just add a dash of glycol, and keep it in a freezer.

I am thinking of putting some in a mist spray bottle, and spray down areas around my beds. Also, soak and hang some felt scent pads around.

I don't know whether or not this will work, but I'm gonna try it.

Prolly have to refresh after a heavy rain, but I have plenty. Plus, most all trapper's supply dealers carry it.

Whatever the results, I'll post on that around June 2012.

I'll prolly pee there too. ... LOL.

Please post results of this coyote urine. I'd be interested to know how your results are.

Whitjr,

Will do.

Like I say, somewhere around early June.

I have one small area planted that I can observe right from my cabin window, and in other areas, I can place a \"tracker\" camera. ... I wish I had one of those cameras that does video, but alas, $$$
~ sigh ~

I try to Whiz In my territory too.Not only to ward off the Deer around my Patches but to ruin Any Chances of the Local (Unwanted) Hunters of getting a Deer.No Deer,No Hunters,No Stolen Ginseng. To do this I drink all of the Coffee,Tea and Gatorade I can before going to the woods.I Also take a Gallon of Gatorade with me.
In my Big 1/10th acre Test Crop I'm Using Milorganite Fertilizer. It suppose to work to repel Deer also.So far they are wearing out the Acorns on the Ground.:S

Peeing is an old wives tale, the smell of your body, breath and deoderant and the like will keep them away temporarilly. I make my own mock scrapes w/ my pee, works great. Here's one.
