I have picked a lot of them this year in illinois. Usually I do not find all that many but it has been really wet this year. I assume that is why I am finding more. Anyway, in Illinois you can only sell Morels out of all the wild Mushrooms. They have other odd rules too. You cannot sell wild caught fish or Fresh Apple Cider....well, you can if you add preservatives. In other states I believe it is different. When I visit the the Cascade Mountains in Washington I often see people selling wild ones.
