I found this one this past Saturday... 04/14/2013.

Just my luck.... again 1 and only 1 to be found in that area. Looked real good.

I have a tiny skillet and cooked that little fellow up and ate it anyway.

My boy Cole got 1 bite and me another :-)

Surly I will find a mess of these things some day !

TNHunter look that area over really good. That is a Tulip Pop. morel they grow in large numbers in and around TP tree's. Look around that area where a road or trail where water runs and you just might find some pop can size blacks. Good Luck

Trahn...

Cole and I went down to that spot where we found that 1 morel this evening and looked all over that spot real good and slow. We went higher on the hill, lower on the hill up the hollow down the hollow. There are no roads in there, but along the main road (up the hollow from that spot) we looked all along the edge of the woods and roadway clearing...

Down in the hollow we looked around every poplar or groups of poplars, every bare spot of dirt, along the creekbank, etc..

Found nothing :-(

Two years ago I hunted several times and found 1 morel, last year several more times and found 1 morel.

This year (so far), 1 morel.

Seems to be my yearly limit :-)

One of these days I would sure like to find 6-8 of these things - you know enough for a good meal.

Oh well - just keep trying !

TN when I find those TP morels most of the times you could fill bags of them. But I do know of spots that just fruit some. Happy Hunting.
