I am new to selling ginseng, my father always sold it for me. Anyways just wondering when any one is going to start buying for this year, and price too. maybe im too early im not sure
Hi Trefinock, I've been buying green since the season opened on the first of September, and dry since the 16th. Currently, I\"m paying an average of $430 for nice Ohio seng. A little more for better stuff, and a little less for lots with significant amounts of damaged and small stuff.
The market still isn't moving much, but I have made some phone calls and can now offer up to $500/lb for nice lots of southeastern Ohio ginseng. It can't have a bunch of small stuff or be damaged for that price. 419.651.8158
I can now pay about $530 for good average run Ohio ginseng. Slightly more for better lots. Quality is still the key in this market. Lots of small roots or damaged stuff result in significant discounts off that number. I can't buy it if I can't sell it.
