TOPIC: Is this goldenseal?

Ive hunted ginseng with my dad for years, trying to start digging some Golden-seal in Ohio. Is this Golden-seal? I would appreciate any help. I think it is from what I have looked at online. I dug just that small pile till I know more. Please let me know anything any any tips would be great!

Ok thanks, I see that now. I need to find someone that knows what goldenseal looks like and get out with them. I really would like to start digging it as well. Thanks for the info!

The root is similar to what you harvested, but much brighter yellow.

I found the link above to a web page that shows tops with roots attached. Those roots have been washed clean and you can see what I mean by BRIGHT yellow.

I used to dig it some, but it's too much like work (compared to hunting seng).
