So, I'm 17 and my dad's friend has introduced me into Ginseng hunting. Can I dig up other plants that I find in the woods and plant them closer to my house? Or will everyone that I plant die because I moved it? Thanks ;)

You can dig up almost any woodland plant in the fall. Dig the plant when the plant top is beginning to die in late fall. Plant the root in rich loamy soil in the shade. Plant the root the same depth as it was where you dug it from.

What type of plants are you wanting to transplant? Also many roots have growth buds like ginseng. Do not knock them off. Water them in after transplanting if possible.
