TOPIC: One Big Storm!

One Big Storm! 13 years 3 weeks ago #8851

Heys guys,

I was looking at the weather radar and this storm is stretching from the SE corner of TX all the way up to Maine. Looks like most are getting rain but the northeast is getting a mix of ice and rain.

Hope nobody gets washed away.

It has rained like crazy here over the last 36 hours. My rain gauge is right at 2\" right now. I helped my Dad unload some fence posts this morning, and because it was so soft, we had to carry them a little ways to where they were needed. Man, was I soaked. I headed for the house after that.

Yep we got one of those \"frog strangler\" rains this morning too..

One of those days where you just can't do much outside.

I went to town and got what I needed to change the oil & filter in my ole truck and got that done.

PS - one of my plumb trees is bloomed out real nice and my bradford pear is at that stage where the blooms are just starting to pop open. My crab apple is covered in red buds which will bloom bright pink here in a few more days.

I have sugar snap peas, lettuce and green onions up in the garden now.

Spring is on it's way here in Middle TN.

I looked around on a morrel mushroom site the other day and it looks like the first morrel's are usually harvested the last week in March/first week in April (here in TN).

I have never done any shroomin but think I will give that a try this spring.

Guys,

This storm hit us hard in Maine. It was all Freezing Rain and ICE!

Trees were down everywhere. Also alot of power line down. We lost power for about 36 hrs. So we camped out with the Lanterns and wood stove.

Things seem to be back to normal now.

lenno

Looks like my ginseng shade faired pretty well. A few small branches broke off, but everything looks good.
