Never tried moving any 3 leafers, or even larger seng plants after tops were up (in the spring).
I have transplanted several roots late fall successfully...
I hope they make it but a 3 leafer really has no established root to fall back on if the top dies... so if the top does die after transplanting, slim to none chance of them coming back next year.
If you transplanted them with great care, and the tops did not wilt, and they get some rain the next few weeks.... might work out.
