TOPIC: Seed getting ate, disappearing

Seed getting ate, disappearing 5 years 7 months ago #41236

Ok seeds have been coming out on my wild plants. Now they are disappearing part of them under the plants. Is it squirrels eating them. A couple hundreds of seeds. They were still green some may have made it to the ground. The ones that got ate.will they pass through digestive system and possibly still come up. May have been a deer, but I think squarial did it.

White-footed mice are the usual culprit. Squirrels look for better food sources. Any seed eaten by any rodent will not sprout. Try scattering peanuts near your plants. This might distract them.

Some the plants are over foot tall. It's looks like they have been picked off. The one that's not have sprouted are still there. Around some of the plants I can see the seeds piece scattered on the ground. Anything a person can put on them when they start to berry out? To keep events from eating them.
