Has anyone been planting any ripe berries yet? I went to a patch Sunday and planted about 40

Most of the berries have already fallen off here. There's a few green and a few red left but not many.

that is crazy,mine don't even have a blush about them,they are as green as a gorde

No red berries here until August 20. I would caution you against disturbing the ground too much when planting seeds. I did this and got poor results. I think the freeze-thaw cycles in wintertime caused the soil to flow downhill carrying the seeds off to unfavorable locations.

They have started to turn red now.

I checked my seed bed this weekend and still nothing but green berries.

I put some more mouse poison out nearby too to take care of those dang berry eaters.

We have had a good growing season this year. Had one short dry spell but not too bad and we have had good steady rains, even into august now, still getting rains.

Should be a good berry crop year here. I expect I might start finding some red ones this weekend.
