TOPIC: Unusual ginseng lookalike

So I was down in North Carolina, in the Durham area, walking through the Duke Gardens (a Duke-managed botanical garden) when I stumbled across this plant. Has lots of ginseng-like qualities, including what looks like a root, but the leaves aren't quite right. Any thoughts on what it might be? My first thought was a buckeye sprout, but wanted to crowd source this.

Pretty sure this is Wild Sarsparilla or Aralia nudicalis. It is usually fairly aromatic if you crush & smell the leaves.
