TOPIC: Hill, some pictures of the peaches

Hill, some pictures of the peaches 7 years 3 weeks ago #35637

The first variety is just starting to turn and hopefully these showers we're getting will help them to fill out and make decent sized peaches. These trees do have ginseng planted under them.

I have worked all morning with a stick called a Kentucky Bumper that's padded on the end, to try to take some of the fruit off and help make the fruit size out.

I can't even come close to reaching the tops of these trees standing on an 8ft. step ladder. I'll just have to let them do what they will in the very tops.

This variety will last about 2-3 weeks and the next one will begin to ripen. As I mentioned, they are just at the beginning stage.

Looking good Hugh! It seems you'll be having peach pies and peach sales before you know it.
