Right now on my land I only grow wild simulated ginseng that will be ready for harvest in 6-8 more years. Thinking putting in a woods grown bed this fall...wondering how much less woods grown is in value compared to wild sim. And how long a woodsgrown patch takes before its ready to harvest?
I've seen woodsgrown --if grown without fertilizers or any other growth enhancers -- that looked for all the world like wild by year 7. If they look, smell, and taste like wild, they get wild price. If they look like woodsgrown, they get from 30-50% of wild price. The biggest give aways are thick necks, too few neck scars for the size of the root, or too many fine roots.
